Lockheed Martin’s Kelly Aviation Center is open for business in Montreal

Kelly Aviation Center Montreal, a Lockheed Martin Canada division, announced it has signed its first six contracts to perform aircraft engine maintenance for airlines, charter airlines, aircraft brokers, and aftermarket suppliers. The announcement was part of the facility’s grand opening celebration that was attended by local and provincial government officials and business leaders, current and potential customers and suppliers, Lockheed Martin executives and Kelly’s 95 employees and contractors hired so far this year.

“The main purpose for this opening event was to recognize the individuals as well as local, provincial, industry, and federal organizations that worked collaboratively with us at Lockheed Martin to keep engine work and jobs here in Montreal,” said Amy Gowder, vice president of Kelly Aviation Center. “Almost immediately after Lockheed Martin purchased the assets of this facility, we received interest from their previous customers. That is a testament to the quality of work and level of talent that was provided by the employees here. We are proud that many have chosen to return to work for Lockheed Martin’s Kelly Aviation Center.”

Kelly Aviation Center Montreal performs a complete range of services on the CF34 and CFM56 engine families, the engines that power the regional Embraer and Canadian RJ jets and the Airbus 320 family, respectively. The facility is part of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ engine maintenance, repair and overhaul line of business, which includes Kelly Aviation Center, a Lockheed Martin affiliate based in San Antonio, Texas.

Lockheed Martin Canada has more than 700 employees at facilities in Ottawa, Montreal, Dartmouth and Calgary, as well as Department of National Defence sites across the country, and is a leader in the delivery and integration of naval combat systems, radar platforms, avionics, electronic warfare, data fusion and performance-based logistics.
