EMTEQ’s Canadian office has been contracted by FBHeliservices (FBH) in the U.K. for design, certification, and manufacturing of a wire strike protection kit to retrofit their fleet of AS350BB helicopters. FBH also requested EMTEQ to design, certify, and manufacture a nose area deflector (NAD) which will be installed at the nose of helicopter. The incorporation of the NAD will provide additional protection for the nose area of the aircraft by directing a cable in the flight path of the aircraft towards the upper or lower cutter in the event of a cable strike in the nose area of the helicopter.
The Wire Strike Protection Kit installation is a modification designed to reduce the risk of wire strikes while operating helicopters at very low altitudes.
