Aéroports de Montréal proudly welcomed Turkish Airlines to Quebec with the arrival of inaugural flight TK35 from Istanbul. The flight, carrying VIP guests including Ismail Gerçek and Naci Ağbal, members of the board of Turkish Airlines and Tuncay Babali, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Canada, is the first of what will be a regular, non-stop, year-round service connecting Montreal to the 257 international destinations served by Turkish Airlines.
According to Turkish Airlines’ CMO (chief marketing officer), Ahmet Olmuştur, Montreal is an important new destination for Turkish Airlines. “We are thrilled to be establishing a base in the vibrant city of Montreal. It is not only a cultural hub that attracts visitors from around the world, it is an important North American business centre. We look forward to serving the people of Québec and working with the team at Aéroports de Montréal as we launch this year-round service.”
Aéroports de Montréal president and CEO James C. Cherry commented that Turkish Airlines will be a welcome addition to the roster of international airlines already flying from Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. “Our goal is to offer the people of Montreal the best connections both nationally and internationally, and we are delighted to have Turkish Airlines here with us at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport.  On behalf of everyone here we wish to welcome you to Québec and Montréal and we look forward to working together in the future.”
Turkish Airlines currently flies to 257 destinations in 106 countries, and is a member of Star Alliance. The code-share agreement with Air Canada also allows for departures from major gateways across the country. Turkish Airlines Business Class travellers will have access to the Maple Leaf Lounge in Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport.
