One of Canada’s leading aircraft charter providers, Air Charter Service, has reported that it has seen a 36 per cent increase in the number of charter contracts it completed in the country over the past 12 months.
“The last year has seen positive trends for both our passenger and cargo divisions,” commented Gary Hopkins, ACS Canada’s managing director. “One of the key areas of our growth has been in the oil and gas and mining sectors, with many charter contracts being secured for flights to remote regions such as Fort McMurray and Shefferville. To get executives, specialist personnel and cargo to these kinds of locations is often only possible by way of an aircraft charter as scheduled services are non-existent, sporadic or unsuitable for the job.”
Furthermore, Hopkins believes the leisure sector of the private jet charter market is expanding too: “Compared with our colleagues in the US, we have tended to organize a lower of percentage of aircraft charters for private individuals. But last year we have had more enquiries and bookings from clients looking to fly for leisure purposes than ever before.
“We have a hugely experienced team that are used to arranging aircraft charters all around the world. It takes a specialist skillset and a global infrastructure to create the most efficient solutions for charter clients, which is why I’m confident that 2014 has the potential for ACS Canada to grow further.”
