Avmax obtains legacy Dash 8 STCs

Calgary-based Avmax Engineering, a division of Avmax Aviation Services, has recently obtained several Transport Canada STCs designed to modernize legacy Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft. The STCs include: SA14-50 Rockwell Collins transponder upgrade to ADS-B Out; SA14-34 Universal Avionics installation of a MFD-640; SA14-35 Rockwell Collins retrofit installation of the TWR-850 Weather Radar System; C-LSA14-123/D 56- to 50-passenger seat conversion on the DHC-8-311; STC SA14-46 cockpit USB power installation for DHC-8-100/200/300; and STC SA14-48 Cabin LED lighting system for DHC-8-100/200/300.
The European and U.S. regulatory approvals process is underway. 
Avmax Engineering is a Transport Canada authorized Design Approval Organization with extensive experience in structures, avionics/electrical and interiors specialties. The company provides design approval on all classes of aircraft, including normal and transport category fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. Specialties include the design and certification of avionics upgrades, flight management systems installations, antenna installations, interior reconfigurations and special mission applications.
