The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) congratulates the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) on a successful CANSEC exhibition. The 2014 CANSEC exhibition welcomed more than 11,000 delegates, 331 exhibitors and a record 31 official international foreign delegations and visiting Embassies.
“CCC is committed to being a trusted partner to Canadian exporters and government buyers for acquisitions from Canada on a government-to-government basis, so CANSEC 2014 has been the ideal setting for CCC to learn more about innovative Canadian technology and to understand the current and future needs of foreign governments,” said Martin Zablocki, president and CEO of CCC.
It was also at CANSEC that CCC and CADSI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to solidify the two organizations’ partnership. The MOU also reaffirms the Corporation’s commitment to deepen its understanding of Canadian capabilities, and promote these key capabilities to buyers in markets around the world.
“The defence sector is a uniquely managed market, and Government support is a key enabler to more successful export outcomes for Canadian industries,” said Tim Page, CADSI president. “On behalf of our 1,000-members, I welcome this opportunity with the Canadian Commercial Corporation to help set the conditions to double Canadian defence exports in the next five years.”
At CANSEC 2014, CCC led eight foreign delegations visiting from Argentina, Bahrain, Chile, Colombia, Kuwait, Mexico, Peru, and Saudi Arabia. CCC toured the exhibition floor with these delegations and introduced representatives to new Canadian technologies, facilitating meetings between foreign delegations and Canadian companies.
The Canadian Commercial Corporation is a federal Crown corporation of the Government of Canada established to assist in the development of trade between Canada and other nations. The Corporation does so by helping Canadian exporters access government procurement markets of other nations through government-to-government contracting.
