CenTex Aerospace, Inc. announces it has completed its first shipment of Halo 250 kits to Beechcraft Corporation, a Textron Aviation Inc. company. The kits will be installed as the Enhanced Payload Option on new production Beechcraft King Air 250 aircraft at the company’s manufacturing facility in Wichita, Kansas.
After working with Beechcraft and BLR Aerospace, CenTex is now able to offer the Halo 250 conversion with AFM data that fully reflects the increased performance capability of the King Air 250. The new data allows a King Air 250 to carry more weight under “hot and high” conditions and to operate from shorter runways. With the Halo 250 conversion, a King Air 250 can carry an additional 920 pounds of payload and/or fuel.
The Enhanced Payload Option is also available to fielded aircraft and can be purchased and installed at Textron Aviation’s company-owned service centers or any of the other CenTex Aerospace dealers.
I would like to get to know following with respect to HALO-250 Modification or weight enhancement of king air B-200.
Ø Whether this HALO – 250 modification involves any Inspection, change of components or authorization (FAA) or any structural modification?
Ø Could you kindly provide me a work scope that is expected to be carried out along with HALO-250?
Ø What is HALO–250, STC kit contained? (list of items)
Ø What is the additional weight incurred on installation of engine fire extinguishing system?
Ø Once HALO – 250 modification is done on an aircraft, will there be any additional maintenance practices and any limitations or will the aircraft has to operate Under restricted category ?

a. What are the items content in modification kit?
b. Is the Kit contains with a engine fire extinguishing system, and whether it is the same as the extinguisher kit P/No 101-9005-3 which was installed by Raytheon Aircraft Services Inc. in few years back?
