The 787 Dreamliner landed for the first time at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport on July 14. Air Canada operated its first scheduled 787 into Montreal-Trudeau that afternoon, with AC418 arriving on runway 24L at 5:44 p.m., roughly 40 minutes later than its scheduled arrival time. Several dozen aviation enthusiasts and members of the public were on hand to see this first for the airport, having been informed earlier in the afternoon by the airport’s social media team. They were lining the fence lines and approaches to catch a glimpse of the Dreamliner, and all were rewarded with an excellent opportunity to see the aircraft as it landed and taxied to the gate.
The Dreamliner was on the ground only for a very brief time before departing back to Toronto as AC423 roughly 90 minutes after it arrived, departing at 7:15 p.m. from runway 24R. This is the first but will not be the last 787 flight into Montreal; the airline has released a revised summer schedule with the aircraft scheduled to make multiple flights to the Montreal airport in the coming days and weeks.
