Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s aerospace engineering program named number one in U.S.

For the 15th consecutive year, the Best Colleges guidebook published by U.S. News & World Report ranks Embry-Riddle’s specialized undergraduate aerospace engineering program number one in the nation and honours the university for continued excellence in undergraduate engineering.
Additionally, the annual compilation has named Embry-Riddle the Best Southern University for veterans and active service members for the second year in a row. Also in the South, Embry-Riddle has climbed to the No. 10 spot among the 122 ranked best regional universities, landing in the top 13 for 10 years now. In a new honour, the university has tied for No. 6 in the elite group of Best Southern Universities considered “up-and-comers” exhibiting the most promising changes in academics, faculty, student life, campus or facilities.

In the specialty category of “Best Undergraduate Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering Programs at Schools Whose Highest Degree is a Bachelor’s or Master’s,” Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach, Fla., campus took first place for the 15th year in a row and the university’s Prescott, Ariz., campus ranked No. 3 for the 12th year in a row.
In the broader category of “Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at Schools Whose Highest Degree is a Bachelor’s or Master’s,” the Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses both rose to their highest rankings ever. The Daytona Beach Campus tied at No. 8, its eighth time in the top 10, and the Prescott Campus tied at No.14, its ninth time in the top 20.

Johnson. “Across a broad spectrum of engineering degree programs, our professors excel not just in the classroom but also in the lab, guiding students in applied research directly related to industry challenges.”
Embry-Riddle offers the following engineering programs:
  • Bachelor’s degrees in aerospace engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering and software engineering
  • Master’s degrees in aerospace engineering, cybersecurity engineering, electrical/computer engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering, software engineering, and unmanned and autonomous systems engineering
  • Ph.D.degrees in aerospace engineering, engineering physics and mechanical engineering
Embry-Riddle’s Other Notable Awards
Embry-Riddle has been named to the following awards lists this year: the Chronicle of Higher Education’s list of Great Colleges to Work For; University Business Magazine’s Model of Efficiency list; U.S. News & World Report’s Top Online Educators in the Nation; Orlando Sentinel’s list of Top 100 Companies for Working Families; and for the fourth consecutive year, Embry-Riddle won Exemplary Course Awards from Blackboard. Military Times, Military Advanced Education and G.I. Jobs publications also chose Embry-Riddle as one of the top schools for active-duty military and veterans.
Among several honors in the past two years, Embry-Riddle was named to Arizona Business Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Companies in Arizona and Arizona’s Most Admired Companies lists, as well as ranking in the top one percent of all U.S. private colleges in AffordableCollegesOnline.org’s “Million Dollar ROI.”
