First Air announces more frequencies between Montreal and Kuujjuaq

First Air will enhance its presence in the North and add a second daily non-stop flight between Montreal and Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, Que., on Mondays starting June 13, 2016. This additional flight will be operated by the airline’s Boeing B737-400 Combi.
The new afternoon flight will depart Montreal at 3:15 p.m. and will arrive in Kuujjuaq at 5:35 p.m. The flight will then depart Kuujjuaq at 6:20 p.m. and will arrive in Montreal at 8:35 p.m.
“This additional frequency is a direct response to customer demand,” said Dr. Brock Friesen, president and CEO at First Air. “By offering a second flight from Montreal on Mondays, we provide our travellers with more convenient connections and improved transfers with our partner airlines. In addition, customers will benefit from extra cargo capacity.”
First Air will also add a second daily rotation on the peak summer holiday travel days; June 17 and August 19. “We are excited to look at growth opportunities again, now that we are in the final year of our three-year transformation; investing in additional aircraft, modernizing our fleet and strengthening our future as Airline of the North,” said Bert van der Stege, VP Commercial at First Air.
