“FlightSafety is pleased to expand the services we provide to owners and operators of Embraer aircraft by offering Legacy 500 training using a new full flight simulator at our Learning Center in St. Louis,” said Steve Gross, vice president of sales.
The Legacy 500 simulator is expected to be qualified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency prior to the end of October. It recently received interim Level C qualification from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil.
Training for pilots is scheduled to begin in November 2014. FlightSafety instructors will provide initial and recurrent training using the new simulator and other advanced technology training devices. Training for aircraft maintenance technicians will be offered in the first quarter of 2015. The courses will include Maintenance Initial, Avionics Initial, Maintenance Practical and Avionics Practical courses. They are expected to be approved by the aviation authorities of Australia, China, Europe, and the United States. FlightSafety will develop the additional maintenance training courses technicians will require to support the aircraft over time, and plans to include its Master Technician Program.
FlightSafety serves Embraer as its factory-authorized training provider for the E-Jets family of commercial jets, as well as the Lineage, and Legacy executive jets. Training for Embraer aircraft is offered by FlightSafety at six locations using a fleet of 20 full flight simulators and other advanced training devices.
