Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has enhanced capabilities to serve customers who are selecting their aircraft’s interior and paint with the opening of a sales and design centre at the company’s Long Beach, Calif., facility.

“The Long Beach Sales and Design Centre gives customers yet another option to choose an aircraft and personalize its interior,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Gulfstream. “The Long Beach centre provides convenient access to our sales and design center staff on the West Coast. This is a testament to our growth and our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers around the world.”

Gulfstream Long Beach opened in 1986 and encompasses more than 325,182 square feet/30,210 square metres. The facility comprises a completions centre for the G550 and G650 aircraft and a service centre for all Gulfstream aircraft.

“We wanted to offer customers cabin-design capability at the same location their aircraft is being completed,” said Becky Johnson, general manager and vice president, Gulfstream Long Beach. “The center is also versatile enough to support the design of all Gulfstream models and offers conference space, catering service space and an entry lounge for customers.”

The 2,439-sq-ft/227-sq-m center complements Gulfstream’s other sales and design centers at the company’s headquarters in Savannah, as well as in Dallas and London, which opened last year.

The material showroom at the Long Beach facility is filled with leathers, fabrics, metal plating, veneers, carpet samples and examples of cabin amenities. Using the mobile visualization application, DesignBook, sales and design staff can walk customers through the design stages. The technology allows customers and company personnel to experiment with various cabin configurations, colors and fabrics by creating a rendering of the cabin in real time.

“This investment in facilities for our customers is the latest example of our commitment to creating and delivering the world’s finest aviation experience,” Neal said.
