IKHANA Aircraft Services announced that the Harbour Air Group, based in Vancouver, BC has endorsed IKHANA’s DHC-6-200HG modification. Harbour Air has been operating two (2) IKHANA modified RWMI DHC-6-200HG aircraft since the first modified aircraft began operation in 2012.

Peter Evans, president of Harbour Air Group, states “IKHANA’s RWMI DHC-6-200HG aircraft has proven to be a useful addition to the Harbour Air fleet. The modification allows for a greater payload than a comparable DHC-6-300 series, which translates into added capacity and increased passenger loads. We like investments that allow us to carry more revenue paying passengers on the same aircraft, it makes good business sense.”

The RWMI DHC-6-200HG is an FAA and Transport Canada approved supplemental type certificate (STC) allowing operation of the aircraft to 12,500 pounds. The RWMI DHC-6-200HG STC increases the payload capabilities of the basic DHC-6-200 aircraft from 11,579 pounds (approximately 900 pounds, or nearly 8 percent, to 12,500 pounds). Operations are allowed to the full 620 shaft horsepower of its PT6A-27 engines effectively transforming the operation of a DHC-6-200 to match the capabilities of a DHC-6-300 aircraft. Harbour Air was founded in British Colombia (B.C.) in 1982 and today has more than 40 aircraft, servicing 350,000 passengers throughout coastal B.C. The Harbour Air Group, consisting of Harbour Air Seaplanes, Westcoast Air, Whistler Air, Tantalus Air and Aeroflite International Services, is the largest seaplane company in the world.
