Investment at Northern Rockies Regional Airport

Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River, on behalf of the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, has announced that the Government of Canada is investing $4,304,668 over two years for the improvement of the runway apron at the Northern Rockies Regional Airport. 
This project will ensure continued safe airport operation for flight crews, passengers, airport employees, medical evacuations, and fire fighting operations.
Funding is provided by Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).
Quick Facts
  • To date, through ACAP, the Northern Rockies Regional Airport has received over $8.7 million in funding for 11 safety projects, including today’s announcement.
  • Previous projects included the overlay of pavement on Runway 03-21 and Taxiway A, airfield electrical system upgrades, and the purchase of a runway sweeper and snowplow truck.
  • Since the program started, the Government of Canada has invested more than $654 million for 790 projects at 174 airports across the country.
