Solar Impulse 2 lands in Lehigh Valley

Solar Impulse 2 (Si2) landed at Lehigh Valley International Airport in Pennsylvania, with Bertrand Piccard at the controls, on May 25 at 8:49 p.m. local time (UTC-4) after taking off from Dayton International Airport in Ohio the same morning at 4:02 a.m. local time (UTC-4). The flight took 16 hours, 47 minutes and 649 miles (1,044 kilometres) at an average speed of 38.65 miles per hour (62.20 kilometres per hour) and maximum altitude of 15,000 feet, is part of the attempt to achieve the first ever ‘round-the-world solar flight, the goal of which is to demonstrate how modern clean technologies can achieve the impossible. 
As soon as possible and weather permitting, André Borschberg will pilot Si2 to New York City completing the crossing of the United States.
