Tanis Aircraft Products is proud to announce the receipt of formal acceptance by Transport Canada for the supplemental type certificate (STC) on both the four and six cylinders Continental, Lycoming, and Franklin engines.  The STC will be entered in the Canadian index of STC’s that have been familiarized or accepted by Transport Canada for installation on Canadian Type Certified / Accepted Aeronautical Products.
The preheat system produced by Tanis Aircraft Products when used properly, will add to operational efficiency, utility, safety of flight and reduce the problems of engine wear associated with cold starts.
Tanis Aircraft Products manufactures the only preheat system that applies heat directly to all of the cylinder heads, oil sump and crankcase.  The Tanis preheat system is powered by ground power and is not used in flight.  Mounted on the aircraft, it weighs less than two pounds (0.91 kg).  The installation kit comes complete with required cabling, circuit protection, and shore power plug.
“Tanis stands for the most technologically-advanced preheat systems.  Our line of preheat and protection accessories has long been an industry standard and we are the only preheat company that has received FAA approval via a Supplemental Type Certificate for preheat systems.“ noted Doug Evink, president and CEO of Tanis Aircraft Products, Inc.
