Epic Aircraft will present Vision Systems’ solar protection solution, Nuance, on the mockup of its new turboprop E1000 at NBAA 2014 in Orlando, Fla., from Oct. 21 to 23, at booth #4677. Epic’s soon-to-be-certified E1000 will be the fastest, highest performing, most comfortable, six-place single-engine turboprop in the world.
Based on SPD technology (Suspended Particle Device), the Nuance solution dims instantly (less than five seconds) from clear to dark to reduce light, glare and heat entering the aircraft. The solution includes a very light and thin composite glass, X-lite, a long-life and scratch resistant dust panel offering excellent optical quality.
Vision Systems’ SPD solutions contribute to cooling costs reduction as they are at their darkest possible state when the aircraft is on the ground thus maximizing heat rejection and keeping interiors cooler. They also block more than 99.9 per cent of UV light which protects the interior from fading, and their fabrication allows noise reduction to keep the cabin quieter. Furthermore, these systems have no moving parts, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. They can be controlled by simply pushing a button at the window or from a control panel or Personal Electronic Device such as a wireless tablet.
Vision Systems’ Electronically Dimmable Windows are now available in different colors, multizone and different amplitudes between clear and ultra-dark to tailor responses to the requirements of the customers, and also include a window or partition solution for complete privacy (opaque white). A unique green solution for solar protection is under development, an Electronically Dimmable Window producing its own energy from the sun thanks to transparent photovoltaic cells integrated into the glazing.
Vision Systems continues to confirm its leading position in the solar protection market. Come and see our complete range of solar protection solutions at Vision Systems’ booth #1551.
