Waypoint Leasing (Ireland) Limited (“Waypoint”), a leading global helicopter leasing company, announced that it has reached an agreement with CHC Helicopters (“CHC”), the world’s largest helicopter services company specializing in transportation to offshore oil and gas platforms, to lease to CHC 13 new technology medium and heavy aircraft, which include the Sikorsky S-92 and the AgustaWestland AW139.
The companies completed the first operating lease agreement and delivered two S-92’s in April of 2013, and anticipate that all 13 aircraft will be on lease by February of 2014. Ed Washecka, CEO of Waypoint Leasing said, “We are excited to partner with CHC, a world-class helicopter services company, and we appreciate their confidence in Waypoint. This transaction reflects Waypoint’s commitment to delivering operators with tailored and flexible financing solutions.”
Clark McGinn, managing director of CHC’s global aircraft leasing group said, “We have worked with Waypoint’s principals for many years and value their deep helicopter leasing and operating experience. Leasing is an important funding structure for CHC and these agreements with Waypoint add strength and diversity to our fleet financing.”
Waypoint provides its customers with technologically advanced helicopters from the world’s leading manufacturers, including AgustaWestland, Bell, Eurocopter and Sikorsky, with an emphasis on medium and heavy twin engine models. Waypoint also supports its customers with sale-leaseback transactions on existing helicopter fleets.
