WestJet has launched new non-stop, twice-weekly service between Las Vegas and Fort McMurray, Alta. Today’s inaugural flight represents even more service to Fort McMurray as part of a major expansion of flights into the oil sands region.
“Fort McMurray and WestJet have been partners for the past 13 years, and this year offers the most significant growth to our schedule out of Fort McMurray ever,” said Chris Avery, WestJet vice-president, network and schedule planning. “We are committed to continually improving choice and connectivity for guests flying out of Fort McMurray, and the 2014 summer schedule reflects this commitment. We are offering non-stop daily flights to Kelowna, Vancouver and Toronto, three times daily service to Edmonton and Calgary and, beginning today, twice weekly, non-stop flights to Las Vegas. Fort McMurray is one of the fastest growing airports in Canada, and we are really excited to be a part of that growth.”
Residents of Northern Alberta seeking bright lights and a great flight need look no further than their own backyard. Enhanced service from the Wood Buffalo region answers the growing need for better options and more convenient schedules for business and leisure travellers alike as the area continues to boom.
