Northwestern Air Lease Ltd. (NWAL) will add a direct flight for passengers looking to fly conveniently between Red Deer and Fort McMurray, Alta. Starting April 10, NWAL will offer a Wednesday flight in addition to the Monday and Friday service already offered from Red Deer Airport.
This is such an ideal day of the week to fly, particularly if you only need a couple of days to conduct business in Fort McMurray, said airport CEO RJ Steenstra. Fort McMurray is an important destination for businesses in Central Alberta and now access has become easier.”
This expanded service will provide a very convenient travel option as more and more residents of central Alberta work in the oil sand projects. The schedule will depart Red Deer (YQF) at 13:45 and arrive at Fort McMurray (YMM) at 15:05, and depart YYM at 16:00 and arrive YQF at 17:20.
I am pleased that we are able to offer additional service to Fort McMurray. We heard from Central Alberta business that the addition of a mid-week flight would be ideal so we think this will be well received. We look forward to serving the communities and businesses of Central Alberta and the Fort McMurray area with this important link, said Terry Harrold, president, Northwestern Air Lease.
