The first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to visit a major Canadian city touched down at Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport (CYYZ) on March 1, 2012. The third Dreamliner off the production line, N787BX was greeted by crowds of excited aviation enthusiasts and airport employees when it arrived from Boeing Field in Seattle. The Toronto visit is part of Boeing worldwide promotional Dream Tour for its newest commercial aircraft, and will be followed by visits to six American cities as well as Mexico City. Tours of the aircraft will be offered to manufacturers and suppliers who are building components for the 787 program, as well as Boeing employees and Dreamliner customers. The Toronto visit is largely for the benefit of Air Canada, which is hosting the aircraft in its hangar. The Dreamliner visit coincides with the 75th Anniversary of Air Canada and the event will launch the celebrations, which will include the airline heritage aircraft, Lockheed 10A CF-TCC, which was the carrier first aircraft type when it started operations as Trans Canada Airlines in 1937.

Air Canada is due to receive the first of its 37 Dreamliners in 2014.
