In early September, Chartright Air Group announced that it added three new Bombardier-built jets to its fleet of just over 40 aircraft — comprised of mostly planes, with one helicopter. The new aircraft include a Challenger 350 (C-FMIX), Challenger 605 (C-FOGT), and Global 5500 (C-GJCB), based in Toronto, Ottawa, and Toronto, respectively. All three aircraft have officially been added to Chartright’s air operator certificate and are ready to begin charter services this fall.
Skies checked in with the Canadian company in mid-September to learn that its growth is not slowing down.
With locations in Lake Simcoe (CYLS), Kitchener-Waterloo (CYKF), Toronto (CYYZ), Calgary (CYYC), Edmonton (CYEG), Montreal (CYUL), and Vancouver (CYVR), Chartright offers private jet charter services, aircraft management, FBO services, and more.
In addition to the three jets that recently joined Chartright’s fleet, the company is also in the process of onboarding another three planes in the near term.
According to a company spokesperson, a new Challenger 604, to be based in Calgary, is expected to be operational this fall, with more details to come. A new Hawker 800XP, which will receive a brand-new interior and paint, is in “the early stages of being onboarded” and is expected to be operational on the West Coast by the holiday season. Lastly, Chartright has also added a new Gulfstream G450 to its fleet, which is currently operating privately for owners. It is expected to be available for charter by late fall.
“With all this growth, we are looking like we will have a 50-plus aircraft fleet by Q1 2024,” the spokesperson said.
Further, on Sept. 18, Chartright announced the launch of its new Light Jet Lease Program, designed to provide an accessible and cost-effective entry into the world of private flying. According to the company, benefits of the program include a “one-year renewable term, no positioning fees, all-in hourly rate, and guaranteed availability.”
The program offers a minimum leasing period of one year and the option to choose from a 25- or 50-hour program, with upfront lease costs and an all-in rate of C$2,500 per occupied hour. Clients can access private flights from major Canadian cities, including Barrie, Kingston, Kitchener, London, Ottawa, Toronto, and Windsor, with extended services to destinations in the U.S. and Caribbean — all without positioning costs.
The aircraft featured in this program include the seven-passenger Citation Ultra and the larger eight-passenger Citation Encore. However, to ensure 24/7 aircraft availability, Chartright says clients have the option to swap hours with a super-midsize jet in the fleet.
According the company, its new Light Jet Lease Program “combines the convenience and luxury of private aviation with flexible terms that cater to the modern consumer.” In other words, it offers the benefits of flying private without the expenses of owning an aircraft.
