Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano was noticeably optimistic about not only his company’s status, but also the business jet market as a whole, while addressing the press the day before the opening of EBACE 2022.
“We are seeing new, younger buyers and they want and expect more from their aircraft,” Amalfitano stated. He expanded by explaining that the new generation of purchasers are part of emerging trends that place more emphasis on technology and sustainability and those are the driving forces behind Embraer’s phenomenal growth.
Those new-to-the-market purchasers are accounting for 36 percent of Embraer’s current sales numbers.
He added, “For 2021 we saw historic sales with our longest backlogs ever, currently into Q3 of 2024. We are anticipating 100-110 deliveries in 2022 which is a seven to 18 percent increase.”
What Amalfitano refers to as the “Leading Phenoms,” the 100 and 300E continue to be popular choices for first-time buyers. This has led to the 300E being the most delivered twinjet for 10 years running.
Soon, the Phenom 300MED will see its first delivery. It is a specially equipped model for the air med segment with the capacity to carry two stretchers, an incubator, and other medical equipment in its medical-grade interior.
The Praetor models, introduced in 2018, have what Amalfitano refers to as, “large jet technology in a small jet carbon footprint.” Continuing on that theme, while the industry has committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2050, Embraer is shaving 10 years off that to reach the goal by 2040.
Embraer will have examples of its models available for viewing at the static display throughout the week of EBACE, being held at the Geneva Airport.
