Operation Maple Hawk arrives in Canada this week while the Italian Frecce Tricolori North American tour winds down.
The Royal Air Force Red Arrows will be landing in Goose Bay, Labrador, after crossing the North Atlantic via Greenland and Iceland over the past several days.
The Red Arrows will start their month-long visit to celebrate the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) centennial at Airshow Atlantic Aug. 22 to 25 at 14 Wing Greenwood, N.S., and will conduct airshows and flyovers around Ontario and Quebec in the coming weeks.
The exclusive Canadian tour marks the team’s return since 2019 and will close out the Red Arrows’ 2024 season.
The Italian display team’s nearly three-month North American tour started at the 3 Wing Bagotville Airshow in June and will conclude next weekend in Maryland. The return of Frecce Tricolori after 32 years to Canada and the U.S. has proven to be immensely popular with airshow crowds. The team has conducted over 20 stops and flyovers.
After Airshow Atlantic, the RAF Red Arrows and Operation Maple Hawk are scheduled to perform at Canadian International Air Show in Toronto, Ont., from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2; Aero Gatineau Ottawa in Gatineau, Que., Sept 6 to 8; and at Airshow London, Ont., Sept. 13 to 15.
Flyovers are also planned for Montreal, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and St. John’s, N.L.
