Registration is open for the Ciência Diversa (Diverse Science), a program of the Embraer Institute to encourage the formation of groups underrepresented in science and technology.
“In the same way that innovation can fuel for economic growth, diversity can boost the culture of innovation. These are the premises behind the Ciência Diversa Program, which joins other company initiatives with the aim of bringing opportunities to underrepresented groups,” said André Tachard, director of the Embraer Institute.
In its fourth edition, Ciência Diversa will choose projects from non-profit Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across Brazil that benefit at least 70 percent of women, Black people, the LGBTQIA+ community or persons with disabilities.
The selected institutions will receive up to R$200,000 to develop their respective projects. Range of target audience, potential for transformation in their reality, originality, and capacity for continuity after the Embraer Institute’s contribution will be criteria considered during the choice of proposals.
Interested CSOs must register by September 27 via www.institutoembraer.org.br . The selection results will be announced in December 2024.
