Twenty-five years ago this month, Dylan Fast began operating Fast Air Ltd., an air charter service, with a single airplane and a rented office. With a focus on safety and quality, the company’s growth has been impressive.
Today, the operation has grown to five aviation business areas, operating nearly 30 aircraft with a combined staff of nearly 150. The organization, which has a family feel, includes aircraft management, fuel and FBO services, maintenance and aircraft upgrades, and a medevac division.
“You’re only as good as your people,” said Fast, “and our success has been because we have a great team who enjoy the work and each other. We have many milestones to look back on — our first King Air, our first jet, being the first to install the Garmin G1000 in our fleet, acquiring our FBOs — none would have been possible without a dedicated team.”
Fast Air is set to announce some significant news during its 25th anniversary year, which includes a new hangar, an expanded location, and hosting of an historic national event. Specific details will follow for each of those events.
Fast Air is headquartered in Winnipeg Man., at the James A. Richardson International Airport and provides flight support across North America and beyond. Fast Air is also a dealer and installer for Garmin Aviation, Raisbeck Engineering, and CenTex. Fast Air hosts the King Air Summit and the Mid-Can Biz Jet Show to network operators and suppliers in Canada.
