That is a 5.23 per cent increase over the previous year, and the airport’s eighth consecutive year of record-breaking growth.

Passenger numbers aren’t the only thing growing at the Fredericton International Airport–with the launch of an additional year-round air carrier, Porter Airlines, and new choices for travellers seeking a sun getaway during the winter, travellers had more options in 2017 than ever before.

These new flights complement the services offered by Air Canada, YFC’s cornerstone air carrier, and WestJet, which launched in 2015.

“We are in a growing, vibrant region and that is reflected in the growth of service and traffic here at YFC. This is great news for our community, because increased passenger traffic means an increased economic impact to our region,” said Johanne Gallant, president and CEO of the Fredericton International Airport Authority.

The Fredericton International Airport’s business is connecting New Brunswickers to the world, and growth at the airport means much more than numbers on a spreadsheet.

More passenger traffic means more investors coming to our region, more business people connecting with clients, more families taking vacations, and more visitors discovering the beauty of New Brunswick.

Travellers can look forward to a choice of five direct sun destinations in 2018, complementing YFC’s convenient service to Ottawa and downtown Toronto with Porter Airlines, and easy connections worldwide via Air Canada and WestJet.
