Over the last five months, in her role as acting president and CEO, Puckering has led Hamilton International through a period of significant growth and made advances with strategic planning, setting a refreshed course for the organization.

With the airport on a strong ascent, the essential requirements for the president and CEO role included industry experience, an understanding of the business of airports, and a strategic vision for growing the airport into a global gateway for affordable travel to and from Southern Ontario.

“Cathie brings a unique mix of experience, skills and values amassed over nearly 20 years at Hamilton International,” said Ron Foxcroft, chairman of TradePort International.

“Her collaborative leadership style, industry expertise, and established relationships with the community make her a great fit for the role.”

A seasoned airport executive, Puckering has held progressively senior roles at Hamilton International.

She has championed new systems and structures, including financial modeling and performance measurement to improve results for the airport and broader Vantage network.

Her depth of experience and leadership qualities will position Hamilton International for continued growth.

“I look forward to leading the exceptional team at Hamilton International,” said Puckering.

“My focus is on growing Hamilton International into a global gateway for affordable travel and goods movement in Canada, and continuing to operate a safe, efficient, well-connected airport for our community and the businesses and passengers we serve.”

Hamilton International welcomed 599,146 passengers in 2017, an increase of 80 per cent compared to 2016.

Similarly, a steady growth of 14 per cent was realized in 2017 for the airport’s invaluable cargo business.

With a view to the future, Puckering will continue to shape and enhance Hamilton International’s reputation as Canada’s fastest growing airport.
