The International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), a worldwide organization for women who hold leadership positions across the aviation and aerospace industry, has announced a banner list of speakers and panellists for its 30th annual conference.

This year’s conference will be held Oct. 24 to 26 at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tenn.

Keynote speakers at the conference, themed “Making Connections in Memphis,” are David Bronczek, president and chief operating officer of Memphis-based FedEx Corp.; and Ursula English, vice-president, Environmental, Health and Safety for The Boeing Company.

Bronczek is set to speak on Thursday, Oct. 25, and English is set to speak on Friday, Oct. 26.

Panel topics sharing key information and insights on the industry will include Global Markets, Trends Disrupting the Industry, Space and Big Data.

Participants will also be on hand for the IAWA Aviation Industry Woman of Excellence Award presentation and interview of Marion Blakey.

Blakey, who recently retired as Rolls-Royce North America’s president and CEO, will speak about her aviation career including leadership positions at the Aerospace Industries Association and the Federal Aviation Administration.

“We encourage female leaders of aviation and aerospace organizations around the world to join us as we connect, inspire and lead to support the advancement of women in our industry,” said Alina Nassar, IAWA president.

As part of the group’s efforts to promote diversity in the aviation industry, there will also be sessions on navigating the workplace and developing the workforce pipeline.

Professional development sessions that still have openings include a “Be Mindful” executive education course, for an additional fee, and a tour of the FedEx operations hub overnight on Tuesday.

Social outings will include a tour of the National Civil Rights Museum and Graceland.

Registration for the conference is now open. Information can be found here.
