Last year, we connected with hundreds of aviation photographers through our very first SKIES Photo Contest. Now, it’s time to get the ball rolling for 2015!
If you’re an amateur or professional photographer who sits patiently at the end of a runway just to get the perfect shot, then this contest is for you. Grab your camera gear and head to the airport, because soon we’ll be looking for the best of the best aviation photography!
The 2015 SKIES Photo Contest opens on Monday, June 1. We’re calling all aviation photographers to submit their very best photos in three categories:
- People at Work
- Plane Spotting
- Airshows
To enter, simply visit skiesmag.com/photocontest on or after June 1 and follow the instructions to submit your photo(s) along with the $10 entry fee, which allows you to submit up to 10 of your best images.
Throughout the duration of the contest, we’ll keep you up to date with weekly mini contests on the SKIES Facebook page, brought to you by our industry sponsors. The photos that receive the most “likes” from our Facebook fans will be named our weekly winners, with those photographers receiving a free entry into the main photo contest.
The 2015 SKIES Photo Contest officially closes at midnight on August 1, 2015. Shortly after, we’ll announce our winners in these prize categories:
GRAND PRIZE (1 Winner) includes the following:
- $500 CDN cash award;
- Winning photo featured on the cover and inside the September/October 2015 issue of SKIES; and
- Recognition on all our online platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletter).
FIRST PLACE (3 Winners, one in each of the three categories) includes the following:
- $250 CDN cash award;
- Winning photo featured inside the September/October magazine; and
- Recognition on all our online platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletter).
SECOND PLACE (3 Winners, one in each of the three categories) includes the following:
- $100 CDN cash award;
- Winning photo featured inside the September/October magazine; and
- Recognition on all our online platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletter).
THIRD PLACE (3 Winners, one in each of the three categories) includes the following:
- $75 CDN cash award;
- Winning photo featured inside the September/October magazine; and
- Recognition on all our online platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletter).
All winning photos will be featured on our social media channels and in the September/October 2015 issue of SKIES Magazine. Entrants grant MHM Publishing the right to publish their photos in the September/October 2015 issue of SKIES Magazine, and to use them for contest promotional purposes. Entries will not be used for any other purpose without the permission of the photographer.
