YYB North Bay World Space Week holding first-ever Community Day

The public is invited to attend the very first YYB North Bay World Space Week Community Day.  
This year’s theme is “Discovery” and the public can celebrate the benefits of space and learn more about space exploration. There will be several inflatable planetariums from Science North and the Royal Ontario Museum, hands-on displays from local representatives involved in the aerospace industry and a presentation from Professor Jaymie Mark Matthews, astrophysicist from the University of British Colombia.  
The public will learn about other planets, see a FIRST Robotics presentation by Team 1305, tour the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence, explore displays by the North Bay Astronomy Club, Swiss Space System’s (S3) SOAR shuttle model, see a model of Canada’s Sapphire Satellite and see a meteorite display by the Nipissing Rock and Mineral Club. 
YYB North Bay World Space Week Community Day will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 22 Wing Fitness and Wellness Centre’s gymnasium located at Canadian Forces Base North Bay on 29 Duxford Road, Hornell Heights, Ont. Please follow the signs for public parking.
Community Day will give members of the North Bay and surrounding community an opportunity to take part in World Space Week, the largest public space event on Earth.
