News March 21/11 Diamond DA20-C1 gets European Gross Weight IncreaseThe Diamond Aircraft DA20-C1 has received European Aviation Safety Association (EASA) approval for an increased Maximum Take-off Weight of 800 kg (1,764 lbs).

The 50 kg (110 lbs) increase completely benefits the useful load, which is increased to approximately 273 kg (600 lbs) depending on configuration, with no adverse affect on the DA20’s utility category certification.

EASA Night VFR and spin certifications are expected mid 2011.

These changes, long approved in many countries, significantly increase the usefulness of the DA20-C1 for the European market.

The DA20-C1 is a sporty two-seat composite aircraft, available with standard and glass cockpit options. Its FAR 23 level certification, spin approval, excellent performance and economical operation make it a favorite for high utilization flight training and personal flying, alike. With an airframe weight approximately double that of most LSAs, the fully certified DA20-C1 provides reliability, durability, integrity and safety that other two-seaters don’t match.
