The CHAA recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with an event at the Tillsonburg Airport.
The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association (CHAA) celebrated its 30th anniversary during the weekend of June 13-14, 2015. Veterans, special guest speakers and enthusiasts enjoyed a full day of Harvard flying at Tillsonburg Airport. CHAA was founded in 1985 in Woodstock, and now boasts a roster of eight Harvards, a Yale and Tiger Moth. The association participates in airshow flypasts across Ontario and the northeastern United States, as well as providing pilot training on the Harvard and flight experiences for members.
Anniversary celebrations included a full day of Harvard flying.

Special guest aircraft at the 30th anniversary event included the Commemorative Air Force’s Red Tail P-51C Mustang dedicated to the Tuskegee Airmen, flown by CHAA’s own Bill Shepard. Long-time supporters and CHAA members L.J and T.J. Lilliman were on hand with their Bushhawk Liaison Squadron L-16s. Both shared stories with the crowd on the early days of CHAA. Murray Kot and his son also flew into the event with their beautifully restored L-19 Bird Dog. Two members of the Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, Kent Beckham and Marco Rusconi, dropped in for a short visit, and Jim Mattice had his North American Yale onsite for the day.
The CHAA is always looking for new volunteers, pilots and supporters.

Everyone enjoyed stories from the early members of CHAA. Veterans such as 90-year-old Russell Mosely, a former WWII Harvard instructor, were interviewed and took flight.
