KITCHENER, ONTARIO – July 26, 2012 – One year ago, MHM Publishing promised to change the way you thought about Canadian aviation. Our goals were simple: to unite all sectors of the national aviation industry within our pages, to showcase collective accomplishments, and to bring readers the Canadian aviation news that matters.

Have we succeeded? As we celebrate our first anniversary, we’re right on track!

Consider:

  • Our subscribers have tripled in one year – from 10,000 to 30,000+ aviation professionals!
  • Thousands of additional copies of Canadian Skies were distributed at 20+ trade shows and industry events across North America. And, Skies is now available on selected newsstands across the country. Our reach is unparalleled.
  • Our list of advertising partners is a who’s who of aviation operators, OEMs, and industry suppliers, and it’s growing every day.
  • We don’t just recycle stale press releases. We take a fresh, original approach to our editorial coverage and package the news with stunning, in-your-face photography. Inside, you’ll find business aviation, airline, military, rotary, maintenance and training news, along with every other industry sector.
  • We have consistently published on time, every time, and hear great things from our audience. Readers love the magazine’s format!

“A year ago, I said a magazine like Canadian Skies was long overdue in such a dynamic industry as ours,” said MHM co-publisher Mike Reyno. “Today, I am happy to say that our publishing formula is right on target. We are very pleased with the progress Canadian Skies has made over the last year, and readers can look forward to more great content and several new innovations in the coming months.”

The staff at MHM Publishing has been busy on the e-publishing front as well. A weekly e-newsletter, Skies News, was launched in January and is currently distributed to almost 13,500 opt-in readers. In March, we began to focus on increasing our social media profile on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. In just a short while, we’ve welcomed 900 Facebook fans, 300 Twitter followers, and 80 in our Google+ circle. Finally, in April, we welcomed online editor Oliver Johnson to the MHM team. Oliver is focused on producing original, quality editorial content for our website, skiesmag.com.

All in all, it’s been a busy and incredibly successful year for Canadian Skies. We’ve attended aviation trade shows and events across the country, talked with countless members of Canada’s aviation community, and profiled the latest developments in our industry. Stay tuned for more exciting editorial coverage in Canada’s largest and most-read aviation publication, Canadian Skies. We are ramping up for an even better year!
