Bombardier has made several announcements while attending EBACE 2017, which takes place from May 22 to 24, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Global 5000, Global 6000 aircraft establish standard in contemporary interior design

The all-new Premier cabin–now available on Global 5000 and Global 6000 jets–has a bold and fresh contemporary interior that brings a new level of refinement to the cabin experience, establishing a superior design commonality to the entire portfolio of Bombardier aircraft. The design draws inspiration from the high-end craftsmanship in luxury automotive interiors and the spaciousness, comfort and productivity of the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft cabins.

“Cabin comfort and sophistication are top priorities for our customers. Global aircraft already lead the industry with spectacular cabin interiors, and our new Premier cabin demonstrates that we are committed to remain ahead of the curve across all of our products,” said David Coleal, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

“The refined aesthetics, luxury and ambience of our new Premier cabin, combined with an advanced cabin management system and Ka-band connectivity, will result in an even more productive experience for our Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft passengers.”

Among the cabin’s new highlights are the stylish seats and sleek side ledges. These elements heighten the feeling of a clean design aesthetic in a cabin that is already the widest and most comfortable in its class. With its impeccable lines and flawless hand-stitched finishing, the new seat design offers improved ergonomic features, such as higher armrests, a sculpted backrest, and crisp, clean lines throughout.

The galley has been streamlined and modernized to a contemporary form and visually stunning hardwood and stone floor coverings are available in the galley and lavatories. The level of refinement is further elevated by the Global family’s unmatched cabin functionality, featuring the fastest in-flight Wi-Fi connection in the skies and the most reliable and most intuitive cabin management system available.

Bombardier launches Ka-Band high-speed Internet on Challenger 650 aircraft

Bombardier has begun offering its lightning-fast Ka-band technology on new Challenger 650 aircraft. The Ka-band high-speed internet system, the industry’s fastest in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity with worldwide coverage (coverage excludes North and South Poles), is also being offered as a retrofit on in-service Challenger 604, Challenger 605 and Challenger 650 aircraft.

The Ka-band high-speed internet lets passengers browse the web, stream online media or stage a video conference as quickly and as effortlessly as they would in their home or office. Bombardier was the first to introduce Ka-band technology in business aviation on its Global aircraft with first deliveries beginning September 2016.

“High-speed internet access is a top priority for our business aircraft customers, and Bombardier continues to lead the industry in optimizing the in-flight experience by launching Ka-band on Challenger 650 aircraft,” said Brad Nolen, vice-president, marketing and communications, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “The Challenger 650 jet delivers on its promise to offer an exceptional cabin experience and class-leading comfort through refined aesthetics and advanced technology. With a redesigned cabin, new seats and the latest entertainment and productivity solutions, the Challenger 650 business jet is the superior choice in its segment.”

Bombardier, Rockwell Collins unveil Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics upgrade for Challenger 604 aircraft

Bombardier Business Aircraft and Rockwell Collins have announced a new Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics upgrade for the Challenger 604 aircraft. As the only all-in-one solution to comply with aviation regulatory mandates while modernizing the flight experience for pilots, the Pro Line Fusion upgrade is set to be available throughout Bombardier’s highly qualified and extensive network of service centres.

“The Challenger 604 is a highly-valued, long-haul aircraft, and this upgrade will allow customers to benefit from the latest technology and continue flying well into the future,” said Craig Olson, vice-president and general manager, business and regional systems for Rockwell Collins. “This will be the third aircraft platform to have the Pro Line Fusion aftermarket upgrade option, continuing our ongoing effort to provide owners with a means to keep their aircraft relevant with modern technology, enhanced situational awareness for pilots and aviation regulatory mandate compliance.”

Bombardier is supporting and endorsing Rockwell Collins’ development of this service offering. The addition of the Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics on the Challenger 604 aircraft will enhance the cockpit experience by providing the latest in avionics functionality while increasing the aircraft’s value.

SkyNRG, AEG Fuels complete delivery of sustainable aviation biofuels for Bombardier Business Aircraft demo fleet’s flights to EBACE

SkyNRG and AEG Fuels completed the delivery of sustainable aviation biofuels for the Bombardier Business Aircraft demonstration fleet flying from KLM Jet Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to EBACE in Geneva, Switzerland. This is the first delivery of biofuel completed by AEG Fuels.

Bombardier’s demonstration fleet, consisting of a Learjet 75, Challenger 350, Challenger 650, and Global 6000 aircraft, completed the successful biofuel-powered flights. The fuel, which is produced by biorefinery AltAir Fuels, was supplied by SkyNRG and delivered to the KLM Jet Center who performed the refuelling.

“We are pleased to be able to provide fuel services for Bombardier Business Aircraft’s demonstration fleet. We are excited for this milestone of delivering high-quality biofuel solutions to our customers, and we are taking the right steps in the development of a rapidly growing renewable fuel business. These sustainable fuels are produced from renewable resources and are considered ‘drop in’ fuels that blend with traditional fossil fuels without any equipment changes. The change to biofuels reduces carbon dioxide emissions resulting in less pollution,” said Greg Cox, executive vice president, general aviation, AEG Fuels.

“It has been great to work together with AEG Fuels and KLM Jet Center Amsterdam on this project. Bombardier Business Aircraft is a frontrunner in the business aviation market and we hope that these flights will inspire other operators in this segment to start flying on sustainable aviation biofuel as well,” said Maarten van Dijk, CEO SkyNRG.
