WestJet is celebrating Clive Beddoe, WestJet chairman of the board of directors, as he is inducted to Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame.
“Clive Beddoe, as one of the founders of WestJet Airlines, has become an icon of the Western Canadian can-do spirit,” said Gregg Saretsky, president and CEO, WestJet. “Aviation is a tough industry, and Clive has become an example of what success looks like amid all the variables and volatility. He remains an inspiration to all WestJetters, reminding them that a commitment to low costs, a great guest experience and an empowered and appreciated employee base is a proven recipe for success. On behalf of 10,000 WestJetters, we offer congratulations as he takes a well-deserved spot on the roster of so many pioneers in aviation.”
The 41st Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame induction ceremony and gala takes place this evening, hosted in the WestJet hangar. Guest speaker for the evening is Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, recent commander of the International Space Station, Expedition 35, and fellow CAHF member.
WestJet also congratulates fellow inductees Lorna de Blicquy, a skilled pilot and advocate for the role of women in aviation; Robert Engle, who enjoyed a fifty-year aviation career in Canada’s north; and Frederick Moore, who spent a lifetime in fixed and rotary wing aviation in both the military and civilian fields.
