AeroCinema, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eureka Media Inc., is pleased to announce that Clark Bunting has joined the company as its executive chair of the board.
Bunting is a 27-year veteran of Discovery Communications, Inc. where among his roles he was president and general manager of Discovery Channel. Most recently, Bunting was president and CEO of the National Parks Conservation Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
AeroCinema is the new aviation Subscription Video On Demand channel set to launch in March 2016.
Phil Osborn, the company’s CEO, is a pioneer in aviation programming. He is the former CEO of Network USA, creator of the Wings series, which ran in primetime on Discovery Channel for 12 years prior to its acquisition by Discovery Communications in 1999.
AeroCinema is expected to launch with over 400 never before seen aviation-related features, documentaries and profiles intended for the aviation enthusiast.
Its top quality HD content explores aviation from its inception to modern day, telling the stories behind the airplanes, pilots, and airplane manufacturers that were instrumental in the First and Second World Wars, through the Cold War and Vietnam, to modern aviation of present day.
“We are delighted to work with Clark again. As a strategic leader in media and entertainment, he brings exceptional experience in building premier broadband channels with loyal viewers, which we will market to aviation enthusiasts worldwide,” said Phil Osborn, CEO, AeroCinema.
“We believe the market for niche over-the-top (OTT) content is poised for growth as consumers learn the value of having online choices for entertainment that allows them to watch quality programming that truly meets their interests.”
“I look forward to helping AeroCinema soar to new heights at this exciting next phase of its development and as we launch AeroCinema to the broader global market,” said Clark Bunting. “We hope to make AeroCinema’s unique, high quality content as important to aviation enthusiasts as Netflix is to movie lovers.”
Osborn said the full international launch of AeroCinema will be the culmination of eight years of research and investment.
This involved building a substantial resource of original high definition content, including a considerable amount of animation, which allowed many aviation stories to be shown on television for the first time.
