FlightSafety International announces new business development appointments

FlightSafety names Patrick Coulter director, business development, commercial training and simulation 

FlightSafety International announces that Patrick Coulter has been named director, business development, commercial training and simulation. 
“Patrick’s leadership skills, operational experience, business acumen, and commitment to excellence made him the ideal choice for this important business development role,” said David Davenport, executive vice president, commercial. “He will work to enhance existing relationships and pursue new opportunities to provide commercial training services and simulation equipment around the world. Current and prospective customers will appreciate and benefit from Patrick’s ability to develop and deliver effective and efficient solutions that meet their operational and financial requirements.”
In this newly expanded role, Patrick will work to identify, secure and manage growth opportunities. He will be involved with the expansion or establishment of training programs and facilities, and the placement of simulators, visual systems and other advanced training equipment with commercial aircraft operators around the world.
Patrick joined FlightSafety in 1998 as a ground school and simulator instructor at the FlightSafety’s Learning Center in Toronto, Ont. He was promoted to program manager of the company’s Bombardier Q Series aircraft training in 2000, and to product marketing manager in 2002. He then served as assistant manager until assuming his most recent position as manager of FlightSafety’s Learning Centers in Toronto and Tokyo. Prior to joining FlightSafety, Patrick was a commercial airline pilot and flight instructor. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with single and multi-engine ratings. 
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Acadia University and received a Certificate from the Aerospace Executive MBA program at the University of Toronto. Patrick serves on the Board of Directors of the Air Transportation Association of Canada.

FlightSafety appoints Robert McGahan director, business development, government training and simulation

FlightSafety International announces that Robert McGahan has been appointed director, business development, government training and simulation.
“We congratulate Bob on his new position and look forward to his contributions to FlightSafety’s government programs,” said Ray Johns, executive vice president, government. “Bob has an in-depth understanding of aviation training programs and flight simulation equipment, and the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet the specific needs of government agencies worldwide.” 
Bob will work with a cross-functional team to identify and pursue new business opportunities for government and military training services and flight simulation equipment. Together they will ensure that FlightSafety offers products and services that are in accordance with current and future government requirements, and provide the highest quality and best overall value. Governments around the world rely on FlightSafety’s mission-specific training programs and proven advanced technology simulation equipment. FlightSafety serves more than 40 national governments with a full range of advanced-technology training services, systems and equipment.
He joined FlightSafety in 1999 as a visual systems program manager for military programs. He most recently served as manager, Military Business Development, Visual Systems. He worked to identify and secure opportunities for the sale of FlightSafety’s Visual Systems with governments around the world. Well over 1,000 VITAL visual systems have been delivered to Customers in 42 countries to date.
Bob served with the United States Army for eight years in Airborne Infantry, Airborne Reconnaissance, and Battalion Operations. Bob then joined the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command and held a variety of roles as an analyst and in logistics and program management. He next served as the Command Acquisition Systems Integrator in the Office of the Commanding General for the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command. Just prior to joining FlightSafety, Bob was the Director, Business Management Office at the Integrated Materiel Management Center of the U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command. He graduated from Forest Park Community College with a degree in Business Administration and studied Business Management at the University of Missouri.
FlightSafety International promotes Gerry McRae to executive director, business development

FlightSafety International has promoted Gerry McRae to executive director, business development.  
He now leads the team responsible for the identification and implementation of new business development opportunities for FlightSafety’s commercial and government training services and the manufacture of flight simulators and visual systems.
 “Gerry has the experience, leadership abilities and business skills required to strengthen FlightSafety’s position as a world leader in commercial and government training and simulation equipment,” said Bruce Whitman, president & CEO. “We sincerely appreciate the efforts of Gerry and the other members of our business development team.”
His responsibilities include evaluating and establishing new training programs and facilities in accordance with FlightSafety’s business objectives. He also works with commercial aircraft operators and government aviation agencies worldwide to develop and deliver tailored solutions designed to meet their specific needs for training services, facilities, and simulation equipment. 
Gerry joined FlightSafety in 1996 as an instructor. He then held a number of Project and Quality Management positions, was Manager of FlightSafety’s Learning Center in Toronto, Ontario Canada, and most recently served as director, project management. 
He managed several large capital projects for the offshore petroleum industry and held a number of aircraft maintenance management and technical support positions with Canadian Airlines prior to joining FlightSafety. 
Gerry received a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from Ryerson University. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Project Management from Lancaster University.  Gerry also earned an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s license specializing in Avionics.
