Funding will pay for the replacement of a snowplow truck and plow. This equipment will allow for the timely and effective removal of snow from runways, taxiways and airside manoeuvering surfaces, ensuring continued safe conditions for flight crews, passengers, employees, and medical evacuation operations.
Funding is provided through Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).
Quick Facts
• To date, through ACAP, the North Peace Regional Airport has received over $14.5 million in funding for 13 safety projects, including today’s announcement.
• Previous projects included the rehabilitation of Taxiways A and B, the airfield apron, and edge lighting; the rehabilitation of pavement on Runway 11-29; and the replacement of a self-propelled snowblower and two runway sweepers.
• Since the program started, the Government of Canada has invested more than $693 million for 831 projects at 174 airports across the country.
