Bombardier Aerospace and Falko Regional Aircraft Limited (Falko), a global lessor focused on the regional aircraft sector, have announced that Falko has added a CRJ900 aircraft to its portfolio. The aircraft, manufactured in 2006 and acquired from Bombardier, is on lease to Mesa Airlines Inc. and is operating on behalf of US Airways, now part of the American Airlines Group.
“The acquisition of our first CRJ900 aircraft is the latest in a series of acquisitions in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and North America. The addition of the CRJ900 aircraft brings diversity to our aircraft portfolio and demonstrates Falko’s commitment to pursuing regional sector investments as we kick off a period of growth and expansion with a strong pipeline of acquisitions,” said Mark Hughes, executive vice president – corporate finance, Falko Regional Aircraft Limited. “We are very pleased to have completed this acquisition from Bombardier and look forward to adding more Bombardier-manufactured aircraft in the near future.”

In total, Bombardier has recorded firm orders for 1,812 CRJ Series aircraft, including 339 CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft. Worldwide, CRJ Series aircraft are in service with more than 60 airlines and more than 30 customers operate corporate variants of the aircraft. The aircraft are operating in over 50 countries on six continents, and on average, a CRJ aircraft takes off every 10 seconds somewhere in the world. CRJ Series aircraft have transported more than 1.4 billion passengers and have logged more than 38 million flight hours and over 32 million takeoffs and landings.
