Shimco, a world-wide leader in the manufacture of precision parts, specialized coatings and gap-management solutions, has expanded its presence in Eastern Europe with the appointment of Providence Group as the exclusive Shimco representative in Ukraine and Belarus. Providence Group will introduce Shimco solutions to the market during AVIASVIT XXI, an exhibition event for aviation industry and space technology to be held Oct. 11 to 14, 2016, in Kyiv.
Established in 2000, Providence Group specializes in providing business-to-business consulting services, and represents aerospace, security and defense companies from around the world in Ukraine, Belarus and in Canada. Based in Toronto, Providence Group is a member of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada and Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries.
Ukraine and Belarus have extensive experience in manufacturing aerospace, space, automotive and heavy equipment products. “Shimco’s laminated and edge-bonded shims, tapers and spacers are small and highly accurate machined parts that bring benefits of reduced manufacturing expenses and increased efficiency in production,” said Volodymyr Paslavskyi, president of Providence Group. “Built to customer specifications with high-tolerance CNC milling machines and horizontal lathes, Shimco shims can range from several millimetres to several microns. Ukraine and Belarus manufacturers will now have access to Shimco’s innovative product, used globally in aerospace, space, defence and other industrial markets by many of the world’s largest Tier 1 and OEM [original equipment manufacturer] aerospace companies.”
