Shimco, an award-winning, world-wide leader in the manufacture of precision parts and gap-management solutions has successfully completed the rigorous Nadcap® audit of its recently completed special processes facility.

On January 7, 2022, Shimco received National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap®) accreditation after successfully passing a Nadcap® audit in Chemical Processing. This achievement is important for Shimco as it demonstrates its commitment to delivering the highest standards of Chemical Processing and is the next successful step in full vertical integration of the company.

“As with our recent preparation, audit and subsequent approval by Bombardier Aerospace for special processes, the team at Shimco Processing worked diligently to make sure we would pass the Nadcap® audit, on our first attempt.  We are now able to provide metal surface treatment services to the entire aerospace and defense industry.  We are also in discussions with several large aerospace OEMs for additional OEM specific approvals and will make further announcements once those are obtained”, said Peter Voss, Shimco President and CEO.

Voss continued, “I welcome all customers and potential customers to visit our website at www.shimco.com for a full list of special processing approvals that Shimco Processing is now approved to perform.  Customers will be able to experience our best-in-class customer service, turn-around-time and quality, that Shimco has always been known for.”

Jay Solomond, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Performance Review Institute, said, “The Nadcap audit is tough, and it is meant to be. The audit criteria are developed by experts from the aerospace and defense industry who are the best in their field, while the Nadcap audits are conducted by individuals who have dedicated an average of 30 years to their discipline. It’s no wonder then that undertaking a Nadcap audit is hard, but Shimco has met the challenge, and I congratulate them for achieving Nadcap accreditation for Chemical Processing. Well done to everyone involved!”
