Shimco, a leader in manufacturing precision parts, laminated and edge bonded shims, tapers and spacers, has announced the receipt of the award in the category of Innovation at the Markham Board of Trade’s 2014 Business Excellence Awards Gala held Nov. 6, 2014 in Markham, Ont. Peter Voss, president and owner of Shimco and Shimco’s senior management team attended the black-tie event to accept the award.
The Innovation award recognizes a successful business that fosters a culture of innovation in technology, manufacturing or marketing. An independent team of volunteers from the Markham business community interviewed nominees to determine the finalists and the award recipients. Ten local businesses were recognized as the best in their field at the Markham Board of Trade’s 24th Annual Business Excellence Awards.
Voss commented, “We are honoured to win the award for Innovation presented by the Markham Board of Trade at their prestigious annual awards gala. Innovation is at the core of what we do at Shimco, and is reflected in our state-of-the-art product design and technology, and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. This award recognizes our company’s success both locally and internationally.”
