TrainingPort.net has announced the release of enhanced security training for business aviation flight departments.
The comprehensive course was developed by aviation security expert Issy Boim of BIGSecurity Inc. Boim has over 35 years of experience in the field, having founded and served as president of the security counselling firm Air Security International for many years, and acted as project security director for various major airlines. He was involved in the Lockerbie bombing investigation, and served as a member of the White House Aviation and Security Commission with former Vice President Al Gore.
Given recent world events and the current security climate, Boim stated that: “It has become obvious that flight departments and operators need better knowledge and education in preventive security in order to operate safely. Preventive measures on the ground may not be sufficient; operators must have the ability to plan the safest route in the air as well, based on their ability to understand and to factor the security conditions into their safety procedures.”
TrainingPort.net’s course walks pilots and other flight department personnel through key security concepts, and defines potential perpetrators and their operations (hijacking, drug trafficking, and sabotage are among the threats considered). The lessons also discuss the gathering of information and intelligence and present a reliable process for identifying and managing threats.
