WestJet sets new record for guests flown

WestJet set a record for guests flown in a single day this week, and the airline expects to set another record today.

On Wednesday, Dec. 20, the airline flew just over 75,000 guests, while on Dec. 22 the airline is expected to fly an estimated 80,000 guests across its network. Both days would surpass the previous record of 74,600 set on Dec. 23, 2016.

“We are very proud to have Canadians choose WestJet for their holiday travel,” said Ed Sims, WestJet executive vice-president, Commercial. “On behalf of more than 13,000 WestJetters, we would like to thank our guests for choosing to fly with us throughout the year, and we extend our best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season.”
