WinAir is pleased to announce that it has completed its Virtual WinAir User Summit 2020. The company had initially scheduled this event as an in-person conference for this past spring in London, Ontario, Canada, and Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, but due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, it moved these Summits to an online environment. From September to December, WinAir facilitated virtual Summit events to offer insight into development priorities and active projects, provide a venue for collaborating and networking with WinAir team members and industry peers, and to offer the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing enhancement and development of its product.

WinAir clients from around the globe attended online Summit events on:

  • Exploring Online Resources,
  • Discovering Updates to Administration,
  • Examining Maintenance Enhancements and New Features,
  • Investigating Resource Management,
  • Understanding Production Quoting, and
  • Improving Inventory Management.

To further assist its clients with comprehending topics discussed at these events and applying concepts at their respective business, WinAir shared video recordings of each presentation within the user forums section of its new Online Discovery Tool. These archived versions of WinAir’s Summits and their corresponding user forums benefitted WinAir’s clients tremendously by providing them with a means for additional content review and an opportunity to engage in online conversations about the topics at hand after each event.

To gauge and understand the degree of effectiveness of its Virtual WinAir User Summit, WinAir invited its clients to participate in a 17 question follow-up survey. In their comments, attendees mentioned that they have gained from the opportunity to preview upcoming WinAir Version 7 software enhancements and provide feedback on these items. They also noted that they have benefitted from hearing other users ask vital questions about the software which aligned with their specific needs and requirements. Attendees stated that they were happy to see these events subdivided into shorter and more focused sessions, which essentially tailored each Summit event to particular overlapping user roles and departments at aviation operations, helicopter operations, MROs, and CAMOs.

Attendees remarked that by having WinAir host these events online, they benefitted from the flexibility of being able to access these presentations from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. They also revealed that because these events were free and delivered virtually, it made it possible for more of their staff to attend, in contrast to only having the operational capacity to send limited staff to the event if it were in-person.

“We are delighted with the results of our Virtual WinAir User Summit,” says WinAir Managing Director Kyle Vergeer. “Assisting our clients worldwide to boost operational efficiencies with WinAir is an overarching goal at our company. By hosting our WinAir client conference online, we have maintained our commitment to client success and gained valuable insight into how we can enhance and expand upon the capabilities of WinAir Version 7 throughout 2021 and beyond.”

While the current pandemic has presented many unforeseen challenges, WinAir has adapted and moved forward to continue to provide world-class service and support to businesses throughout the aviation industry. Implementing a company-wide remote work policy back in March of 2020, which remains in effect, along with transitioning its Summits to a virtual environment, are prime examples of WinAir’s dedication to its clients and its flexibility in managing its business.

Now that the Virtual WinAir User Summit 2020 has reached its conclusion, WinAir is excited to accelerate its software development. To further improve maintenance planning and forecasting, the company will introduce new system enhancements for automating, streamlining, and expediting processes. Many of which will have been driven by input from its software users. WinAir will utilize the information that it has obtained from its clients during its Virtual Summits to assist it in current software development projects and future enhancements and updates. One such enhancement set for release in 2021 will see WinAir expand upon its Reliability program to accelerate processes, make businesses more efficient, and improve cost management. This WinAir Version 7 software enhancement will offer more analytical information, thereby allowing WinAir clients to be more forward-thinking in their maintenance planning so they can make better and more sound data-driven decisions. As a result, this Reliability enhancement will play a leading role in helping WinAir clients safeguard against AOG situations and ensure that aircraft are always ready for the next mission.
