On Dec. 15, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) celebrated the launch of Flair Airlines’ new non-stop services between YVR and Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Edmonton International Airport (YEG), as well as continued service to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) from YEG.
“We are pleased to welcome Flair Airlines to YVR, providing more connections to Canadian cities while giving travellers more options to visit family and friends over this holiday season and throughout the year,” said Anne Murray, vice-president, Marketing and Communications, Vancouver Airport Authority.
“We are really excited that this local B.C. born airline can help serve our vision of connecting B.C. proudly to the world with new options to connect through our hub. We know that more choices and affordable airfares are important to travelers.”
The low-cost carrier offers year-round service between YVR-YLW and YVR-YEG-YYZ that will use a Boeing 737-400 aircraft with seat capacity for 156 passengers. Each of these services will operate four times weekly.
In business since 2005, Flair Airlines is based in Kelowna, B.C. Since last year, Flair has flown over 376,600 passengers on more than 3,090 flights with plans to operate 12 aircraft by spring of 2019 as they expand their network.

By operating direct flights from Vancouver to Edmonton and Kelowna, plus one-stop service to Toronto, we believe this is a great start to our routes operating from Vancouver,” said Chris Lapointe, vice-president, Commercial Operations, Flair Airlines.
New services such as these are made possible thanks to YVR’s ConnectYVR rates and charges program. The program provides a highly competitive rate structure and includes rates lower than any other major airport in Canada and competing U.S. airports.
