In the corporate aviation world, it’s easy to find initial crew training courses on just about any topic. But when it comes to obtaining approved recurrent training – and properly documenting course completion – that’s not so easy. It was this realization that led Scott Macpherson to found TrainingPort.net back in 2006. Seven years later, the Vancouver-based training company offers more than 60 online training courses geared specifically towards business aviation.
Through its online portal, corporate flight departments can order customized training for all aspects of their operation, as well as Occupational Health and Safety lessons. TrainingPort.net partners with leading training providers and consolidates all of their course offerings in one place, on the company website. All programs are designed to meet regulatory and currency requirements.
Macpherson, who worked in corporate aviation as a pilot and manager for more than 25 years, hosted a press conference at NBAA in Las Vegas, Nev., to discuss his company’s offerings.
“We focus on locating world-class experts and aligning with them, so we become the one-stop shop for business aviation training,” he explained. “In 2006, we opened at NBAA, offering everything you needed for a variety of regulatory and compliance schemes such as IS-BAO. There was no one place to go for everything. We have a unique standing – we are not the experts in anything; our strategy has been to find the experts in any one area.”
The company has partnered with a variety of training organizations, including AeroEx GmbH, CRM LLC, and Radar Training International.
