Dassault provides update on Falcon 6x

Dassault Aviation provided an update on the the company’s upcoming Falcon 6X at the 2019 edition of the NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). The French company claimed that the jet’s development is on schedule as it aims for early 2021 to commence first flight of the aircraft and certification to conclude in 2022, with customer deliveries to begin shortly thereafter.

“Our new Falcon 6X twinjet is attracting strong customer interest thanks to its cabin size, comfort and handling pedigree,” said Eric Trappier, chairman and CEO, Dassault. “I’m happy to report the development is right on schedule.”

On the 6X, Dassault is in a working relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) to develop the Canadian company’s new PW812D engines. The French OEM said there are six development engines active with more than 1,200 hours of engine runtime accumulated to date.
