Russian carrier Aurora Airlines is in the process of adding several Bombardier Q400s to its fleet.
The secondhand aircraft were all painted at Muskoka Aircraft Refinishing at Muskoka Little Norway Airport in Northern Ontario and prepared for delivery by Skyservice Business Aviation Inc., at Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport.
All three had been flown to Russia for paperwork and initial acceptance after painting, and subsequently returned to Skyservice to undergo C-checks.  The first aircraft was delivered on Dec. 31, 2015 and as of Feb. 25, 2016 the next two were nearing readiness for delivery from Toronto.
Aurora Airlines is based at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport and began operations in 2013. It was created as a merger between SAT Airlines and Vladivostok Avia, and is 51 per cent owned by Aeroflot.
It has a current fleet of three Bombardier Q200s, four Q300s, two de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otters, three Boeing 737-500s and seven Airbus A319s, plus two on order).
